Chapter 02 - The Meat-Eating Tiger Cub

Two tears streamed down Zhao Xixi's face when she saw an enlarged tiger cub's face. Trying to hold back her tears, she said with a sob, “I... I'm not crying...”

She looked so pitiful, entirely different from the human cubs outside.

The human cubs that the tiger cub met before also loved to cry, but their cries were domineering, and they would also call adults to beat him. Unlike this soft human cub, she cried out of fear.

The tiger cub's little head couldn't react, and he didn't understand why this human cub cried so pitifully?

The tiger cub started wandering not long after he was born. When he was young, while looking for food, he met a human cub. The human cub would cry non-stop, and then the human adult would beat him. He never encountered someone who could hold back tears.

Originally, the tiger cub wanted to let go of the human cub. However, when he saw the other cubs looking at him, he just remembered that he had claimed his position as boss. So the tiger cub followed his idol and surrounded the human cub. Just like the former king of beasts facing his prey.

“What's your purpose here?” While he threatened her, his little round ears moved. If it weren't for his little milky voice, this would really feel like a forced confession scene.

Zhao Xixi shivered and whispered, “I'm here to study.”

“What are you studying?”

What am I studying?

“I… I don't know…” Little Xixi held back her tears and said in a sobbing voice, “My mother said that if I don't go to kindergarten, monsters will eat me.”

This human little spy was about to be questioned further when a sound outside caught their attention. Before she knew it, a paw picked her up, and Little Xixi was already on a chair, and the table had moved to block her.

Sitting next to the tiger cub, Zhao Xixi heard the little monster next to her say, “If you dare to tell others what happened just now, I will really eat you.”

Hearing this, she quickly covered her mouth.

At this moment, the teacher also came in. The teacher walked to the podium and looked at the cubs and Zhao Xixi, feeling pleased.

She said, “Cubs, today is your first day in kindergarten. There must be a lot of things you don't understand. I am your teacher. You can ask me anything you don't understand in the future.”

Soon, she took out the book and said, “Today, let's learn etiquette first.”

Zhao Xixi had already read the book in the baby class, and she had already learned all of this.

“Learn a polite language first today. Hello, goodbye, thank you, you're welcome, I'm sorry, it's okay.”

The teacher on stage was giving a serious lesson. Zhao Xixi's attention was still on her side. The tiger cub was sitting next to her, flicking his little tail.

Zhao Xixi was very popular among the teachers when she was in the baby class because Zhao Xixi was really a good girl and an obedient child. And she also remembered the teacher's words clearly. She never talked to anyone in the class. She always sat upright and straight and never moved around during the lesson.

Zhao Xixi really wanted to tell the tiger cub that he had to listen carefully in class and not wag his tail all the time.

The previous teachers didn't mention tails because everyone in the class didn't have a tail, but the previous teacher prohibited hand-waving during the lesson. And wagging your tail should be like waving your hand.

But Zhao Xixi didn’t dare say it and stayed silent. And at this moment, the teacher on the stage said, “Everyone, practice the polite expressions we learned with your deskmate first... Hello; thank you; you’re welcome; it’s okay; I’m sorry. And now you should go try it here.”

Zhao Xixi turned her head to look at her deskmate. The tiger cub's big, round eyes were full of disobedience.

Even though she was afraid, Zhao Xixi still wanted to be an obedient child. So that the teacher would praise her in the parent-teacher meeting later on, and her parents would be pleased.

So Zhao Xixi whispered, “Hello...”

Tiger Cub: “It's okay.”

Zhao Xixi: “No, I said hello, and you should have to say hello too to me.” The power of knowledge defeated fear.

Looking at the human cub, the tiger cub couldn't help but yawn and open his mouth wide, revealing a mouth full of blood with two deciduous teeth missing.

Zhao Xixi was frightened, and trembling, she said, “I'm sorry.”

The tiger cub snorted, “It's okay.”

A few moments later, the teacher started talking about family etiquette.

“Respect the elders.”

Although Zhao Xixi had already listened to these lessons, when the teacher spoke, she was still listening carefully again.

“Tiger Cub!”

The teacher suddenly called out, startling Zhao Xixi. She turned her head and found that the tiger cub that the teacher had called was sleeping.

Zhao Xixi: “…”

He is really a bad boy. The teacher will definitely criticize his parents during the parent meeting.

“Why don't you pay attention to the class?” said the teacher.

The tiger cub stood up lazily and glanced at the other cubs, who were still listening to the class seriously. And he said, “I don't need family etiquette because I have no family.”

The other cubs were stunned. Their fluffy heads moved together, and they didn't know what to say.

The teacher was stunned for a moment and said, “Sit down.”

Zhao Xixi was also stunned for a moment. She had never met a child without a family, and everyone had a family.

After the tiger cub sat down, his fluffy body curled up and continued to sleep.

After the teacher finished all kinds of etiquette lessons, it was lunchtime. Zhao Xixi also had lunch at school in the previous kindergarten, so she sat obediently in her seat and waited for the teacher to distribute her lunch.

Soon, the teacher placed two apples in front of her.

Other students in the classroom either put apples or raw meat in front of them, and they had already started eating.

And in front of the tiger cub was a huge lump of blood-red raw meat.

Zhao Xixi got off her seat, went to the side to wash her hands, and then came back to eat apples.

When Zhao Xixi came back, she found that there was no little monster sitting next to her. Zhao Xixi searched the classroom and saw that the tiger cub who was sitting next to her had already dragged the meat to the corner, tearing it apart one by one. He ate it very anxiously, as if someone would snatch it from him in the next moment.

Zhao Xixi heard the two crows in the back row chirping, “Is it true that Tiger Cub really has no parents?”

“He should be. You can see that his fur is really messy and knotted. It doesn't look good at all.”

“He must be disobedient, so his mom and dad don't want him. He is a bad boy. Let's not play with him.”

Zhao Xixi suddenly remembered some particularly sad words.

“Zhao Fat Pig is actually wearing a skirt!”

“Let's not play with Zhao Fat Pig. We will become Fat Pigs too if we play with her!”

But the previous kindergarten teacher taught them not to speak ill of their classmates.

During class in the afternoon, Zhao Xixi peeked at the tiger cub and found that his fur was really knotted and lumpy.

Zhao Xixi peeked at the tiger cub again. He was still sleeping. With his head buried under the paws, you could see the furry ears. And he seemed to be sleeping soundly.

Zhao Xixi looked at the teacher, then stretched out her chubby hand, secretly... Secretly to untie the big knot.

Originally sleeping, the tiger cub suddenly felt excruciating pain and cried out.

The whole classroom suddenly fell silent.

Zhao Xixi blushed and quickly hid away.

The teacher asked, “What's wrong?”

The tiger cub looked at the classroom and then at the trembling human cub sitting at the same table as him. He felt someone had attacked him, but he didn't know who it was. So the little tiger thought it was the teacher who attacked him to teach him a lesson.

And Zhao Xixi didn't dare to speak until after school. When the tiger cub was standing up, Zhao Xixi noticed that everyone was looking at the fur on the tiger cub's belly and laughing at him. There were a lot of knots in it.

Although Her classmates here stopped laughing at her, Zhao Xixi was still very upset. “...”

Why are you laughing at others?

When school was over, Zhao Xixi walked to the school gate with other classmates, only to find that neither her mom nor her dad had come.

There were several adults at the gate of the school, hugging the monster students one by one.

Zhao Xixi stood at the gate of the school, and soon there were only her and the tiger cub left at the school gate. The teacher next to her said to Zhao Xixi, “Our kindergarten ends an hour earlier than the human kindergarten. Remember to talk to your father and mother when you go back.”

Zhao Xixi hummed, and she secretly glanced at the tiger cub next to her, who was carrying an old schoolbag on his back, and on the schoolbag there was a Snow White.

Zhao Xixi quickly remembered that the tiger cub has no parents, so no one has bought him a school bag.

The tiger cub didn't look at the human cub and walked away by himself. He was a little monster who walked alone on the road in front of the school and then ran into the nearby bushes.

Zhao Xixi suddenly felt that the tiger cub was not so scary anymore.

Zhao Xixi waited for a while, but her father hadn't come yet, so she walked back by herself.

Zhao Xixi was walking, only to find a lot of fish swaying. Hey...

This is her former kindergarten, and there is a long queue next to it.

At this moment, the school bell rang, and many children came out.

Mother Zhao saw Zhao Xixi carrying a small schoolbag at a glance and hurried over to hug her up. She didn't realize that Zhao Xixi didn't come out of her former school gate.

Mother Zhao hugged Zhao Xixi and asked with a smile, “What did you learn at school today, baby?”

When she picked her up, she saw that her daughter's sleeves were muddy. And she assumed that Little Xixi had been playing in the dirt again.

Mother Zhao scared her daughter: “Why is it dirty again? Monsters like to eat dirty children the most!”

Every time Mother Zhao used monsters to scare her daughter, Little Xixi would try to fix everything.

But this time, Little Xixi drooped her head and asked in a buzzing voice, “Mom won't let the monster eat me.”

Mother Zhao didn't know what happened to Zhao Xixi, so this sentence amused her. Then she deliberately said, “Mom is only a human being, and she must not be able to beat monsters, so you have to be clean.”

Zhao Xixi was a bit anxious: “What about Dad? Can Dad beat monsters?”

Mother Zhao suppressed her smile and continued to tease Zhao Xixi, “Daddy can't beat monsters; what should we do? If monsters come, they will definitely eat up Mom and Dad, and you won't have Mom and Dad by then.”

Zhao Xixi drooped her little head, sighed like an adult, and said compromisingly, “Okay.”

Zhao Xixi originally wanted to tell her mother what happened during the day, but both parents couldn't beat the monsters. Alas, it was useless to talk; she should protect them.

Then Zhao Xixi remembered another thing. The tiger cub has no parents. She asked curiously, “What would happen if there were no parents?”

Mother Zhao believed that setback education was important, so she said truthfully, “If one didn't have parents, then there would be no food to eat, no beautiful clothes, and no place to live. Did you see those stray cats downstairs? If there were no Mom and Dad, you would be like that.”

Zhao Xixi thought of those stray cats. They could only dig through trash cans to find food. Would Tiger Cub do the same?

Zhao Xixi thought of her deskmate also rummaging through the trash can, shivering in the chilly wind. It's really pitiful.

Seeing her daughter scared, Mother Zhao comforted her again: “So you have to be obedient, you know? Mom and Dad work hard every day, just to let you live a good life.”

Zhao Xixi nodded heavily.
