Chapter 03 - Cutting the Tiger's Fur

The next day, at dawn, Zhao Xixi’s mother pulled her out of bed.

“I’m going to take you to school today,” said Mother Zhao while combing Zhao Xixi’s hair.

After she finished combing her hair, Zhao Xixi was already awake. Mother Zhao stuffed a bottle of high-calcium milk and two slices of bread into her mouth for breakfast.

Zhao Xixi suddenly raised her head and said, “Mom, can you bring me some more bread?”

She would be hungry at noon because the school only gave out two apples to eat.

Mother Zhao frowned and said, “Didn’t your kindergarten not allow you to bring food?”

Zhao Xixi pulled off her mother’s clothes and said, “This time, the teacher didn’t say no.”

Although Mother Zhao didn’t believe it, she still brought two extra buns for her daughter.

Soon, Mother Zhao sent Zhao Xixi to the front of the kindergarten.

Mother Zhao looked at the kindergarten teacher who greeted the children at the school gate and said to Zhao Xixi very reassuringly, “Xixi, you go in by yourself. Mom has to go to work, so you go first.”

Zhao Xixi hung her head and didn’t speak. Mother Zhao was really busy, so she turned away and then left.

Zhao Xixi turned her head, and there were young classmates beside her.

She looked at the school. In front of the school, there was a pool full of fish, and she was about to go inside.

Then she heard someone calling her “Fat Pig...”

“It’s Chinese New Year, and we will slaughter the pig!”

Zhao Xixi immediately turned in one direction and ran to the other side. Soon she saw a school full of balloons at the gate. Zhao Xixi swallowed her saliva. In fact, the monsters did not bully her yesterday.

Although the tiger said that he was going to eat her, he was actually sleeping during class, which was better than her previous deskmate. Not only did the previous deskmate not attend the lessons, but he also kept pulling her braids and refusing to let her attend the lessons.

Moreover, no one called her a pig, and no one wanted to play the game of killing a pig.

The pig-killing game referred to a few classmates pressing her to the ground, and then a classmate used a book as a kitchen knife to scratch her neck. Someone next to her would ask whether the pig had been killed or not. And if they had killed the pig, they would have let go of her. But she would continue to paddle back and forth without being killed again.

Thinking this way, Zhao Xixi simply walked in again.

As soon as she entered, she saw a little tiger walking past vigilantly.

Zhao Xixi thought for a while but didn’t follow him. She walked through the net, walked over the single-plank bridge, and climbed to the classroom.

As soon as she arrived in the classroom, she saw the tiger cub sleeping quietly, curled up on the desk.

Except for her, the other cubs in the class are sitting on the desks or sleeping directly on the desks. In this way, the other cubs didn’t need stools, so their tables were all close together.

Zhao Xixi’s seat was inside the tiger cub; the table was a bit high, and Zhao Xixi couldn’t climb it. She looked at the tiger cub but didn’t dare wake him up.

Fortunately, Zhao Xixi looked under the table, so she put down her school bag. And got in from under the table.

When getting out from the other side, Zhao Xixi only heard a bang, and then there was a pain at the top of her head. She hit the table just now.

Zhao Xixi put one hand on her head and quickly crawled out, only to see a pair of eyes on her head.

It startled Zhao Xixi.

“Hi…” She held back her tears and spoke cautiously.

The tiger cub looked at the human cub, then turned his head and continued to sleep.

When he twisted his body, he revealed his fluffy legs, and Zhao Xixi noticed that there were several knotted fur bumps on them.

Zhao Xixi approached cautiously and then found that there were a lot of knotted fur bumps on the bottom of the little tiger’s legs. Not only that, but because of the knotted fur bumps, she could see the red skin, probably pulled.

Zhao Xixi used to have tangled hair, and that hurt so much when being pulled off. So he must have hurt, too.

Little Xixi thought of the cats in the uncle’s house next door, and whenever their fur got knotted, the uncle would take a pair of scissors and cut it off.

Zhao Xixi blinked.

Soon the teacher came. Today’s class was a bit different.

In addition to learning some etiquette, you also need to learn spells, which are now basic courses.

Zhao Xixi didn’t quite understand.

However, Zhao Xixi understood a few sentences:

“When you learn it, you will easily be able to break through the space, and you will no longer have to take human transportation.”

Zhao Xixi found that in this class, the tiger cub also listened very seriously and didn’t sleep anymore.

All the cubs stood, and Zhao Xixi simply stood up and followed the teacher.

“Stretch out the front paw first.”

The tiger cub stretched out a fluffy paw, and Zhao Xixi stretched out a chubby little hand.

“Turn half a circle.”

The clawed paw obediently turned half a circle, and the chubby hand also obediently turned half a circle.

“Close your eyes.”

“Follow the direction of the airflow.”

Zhao Xixi said with a dazed face, “???”

“Find the airflow with the same attributes as your own, and then open your eyes!”

Little Xixi opened her eyes, and then she saw a small light circle in front of the plush paw of the little tiger that had the same table as her. It was shiny, very similar to Zhao Xixi's plastic toy. That plastic toy would shine when worn on the hand.

But there was nothing in front of her chubby hand.

Besides Zhao Xixi, the other cubs in the class also had nothing in front of them.

That surprised the teacher, and she said, “I didn’t expect that; you actually have a lightning element, and you can work in an electrical department in the future.”

The other students in the class were a bit frustrated. But the teacher comforted them: “This is the first time to capture the airflow with the same attributes as yourself, and there will inevitably be mistakes. Don’t be nervous. Keep practicing.”

So Zhao Xixi breathed a sigh of relief and stretched out her chubby hand, continuing to draw circles.

Close your eyes!

Open one’s eyes!

Hey, still not.

Zhao Xixi was not depressed and continued to draw circles like other students, closing and opening her eyes.

And the little tiger next to her has already started sleeping again.

The teacher said that today’s learning task is this, so everyone is doing it.

Fortunately, not only Zhao Xixi but also the other cubs did not have halos—nothing at all.

However, at noon, only Zhao Xixi continued to draw circles and close her eyes with her sore arms.

When the tiger cub got up, he saw that the human cub was still studying spells seriously.

Tiger Cub: “…” Stupid human.

However, in the afternoon, all the other students in the class sensed a circle of light; only Zhao Xixi had nothing.

Zhao Xixi is still trying to sense the light.

The teacher sighed. Their first comprehensive kindergarten agreed that humans and cubs should learn the same things; not only should the monster cubs learn about humans’ knowledge, but the human cubs should also learn from monsters’ knowledge.

However, the problem is that this situation is not easy to handle.

But the teacher felt that, according to the inertia of human beings, Zhao Xixi would definitely give up this matter in a short time.

The teacher underestimated little Xixi’s perseverance, or, in other words, the heart’s desire to follow the masses. She was terrified that her classmates had done it, but she had not. She was afraid that her classmates would ridicule her, so she continued to practice even after class.

But none of the cubs actually laughed at Little Xixi. The cubs did have someone to laugh at, but it wasn’t Little Xixi.

“He’s a male tiger, but he used a human girl’s schoolbag. It’s so funny!”

“He must have snatched it from humans. My mother said that cubs without parents will become robbers in the future.” It was the lion cub who said this.

When Zhao Xixi heard these words, she secretly looked at the tiger cub sleeping on the table. Zhao Xixi saw his little ears move.

He must have heard it.

Zhao Xixi looked at Snow White’s little pink school bag again. Her schoolbag is also pink, which is obviously pretty!

In the afternoon, when kindergarten was over, the parents had already picked up the other cubs. And Zhao Xixi was walking outside the school while practicing the summoning technique, as the teacher said.

Zhao Xixi looked at the little tiger, who had wagged his tail and was walking to the other side of the community.

She stepped on her short legs and followed.

But she was actually a little afraid of this monster in her heart, so she didn’t dare to get too close.

After a while, the little tiger monster was no longer visible.

Zhao Xixi looked around, but he was gone.

So, she turned her head and was about to go on, and then she heard the cry of a child—

“Mom! Mom! There are monsters!”

Although Zhao Xixi is also scared, she feels that she has been living under the eyes of monsters these two days, so she is more powerful than other people.

So she ran over quickly.

However, when she ran over, she saw two adults wearing down jacket, both holding sticks in their hands, hitting a familiar figure fiercely.

While beating, the mother said, “Don’t be afraid, baby; Mommy beat the monster away!”

They beat the little tiger several times.

The tiger cub found something on the ground and then ran away with something in his mouth.

Zhao Xixi stood a little back, feeling really sad in her heart.

She didn’t know why, but she suddenly felt so sad. Really sad.

It was as if she were the one being beaten.

Zhao Xixi walked back in a daze and came to the front gate of the human kindergarten, where she soon found her mother in the queue.

She doesn't want to talk today.

Mother Zhao was a bit strange: “What’s the matter today?”

Zhao Xixi hesitated and said, “Mom, do you know how to fight little monsters?”

Mother Zhao said naturally, “Of course.”

Zhao Xixi let out an oh sound and continued to walk forward. Suddenly, she said again, “But the little monster looks so pitiful.”

Mother Zhao hugged Zhao Xixi and said, “How can monsters be pitiful? They are bad; they like to fight, use magic to bully humans, and try to make humans become slaves. If you meet a little monster, you must run away, you know?”

Zhao Xixi always felt that there was no such thing. They had beaten the little monster so badly that he didn’t even fight back.

Seeing the little tiger the next day, Zhao Xixi was not as scared as before. Because she realized that the little tiger, similar to her, was also a victim of bullying.

Not only was she not afraid, but she also felt that they could be friends.

However, when Zhao Xixi greeted the little tiger the next day, he ignored her.

When the little tiger was sleeping, he secretly opened his eyes and looked at the human cub.

Then he saw the human cub carefully take out a pair of scissors from the bag. Not only that, but she also held the scissors in his direction.

The tiger cub wanted to bite the human cub, but that wasn’t worth it. If he bit the human cub now, the teacher would definitely dismiss him. He could only resist when the human cub hurt him.

So, the tiger cub’s fur all exploded, waiting to be hurt.

He didn’t think this human cub could do other things with scissors.

Immediately after that, he felt a soft little hand touching his leg, and he resisted the urge to turn back and bite, waiting...

Zhao Xixi carefully touched the knotted fur bump, then took the scissors, got very close, and slowly cut off a small knot. And another small knot.

The little monster’s fur was really easy to touch, but it was not good to get tangled. When Zhao Xixi cut it, she also saw the red skin due to the knotted fur being pulled. She blew gently while cutting. It was definitely not that painful anymore.

“Ding... Dong... Ding...”

Other students came in, and Zhao Xixi quickly took back the scissors, put away the cut-off, knotted fur bumps, and then sat back in her seat.
